Mastery of Design: A Gold Signet Ring, 1500-1600

Ring

Today's shiny thing is a very old gold signet ring with a circular bezel. It has been engraved with a hound on a leash, couchant beneath a tree, and the initials "IL" in lombardic characters.

Still in remarkably good condition, it's hard to say when it was made, but it's probably from between 1500 and 1600. The ring was most likely made in England.
