Thank You Kathie Lee and Hoda!

This Labor Day brought a treat for me and Bertie...a trip to Ithaca, New York, compliments of TODAY and Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

Many thanks to Kathie Lee and Hoda...not just for the trip, which is wonderful, but for bringing us such a great show every day.

Frankly, I was just as thrilled to see Bertie's picture on National television.

Here's the whole poem I wrote for them.


Ode to Kathie Lee and Hoda

A man named Joseph works from his home
Where he thinks, and he draws, and writes many a tome.
Helped by a dog called Bertie Wooster
They start with the sound of the first crowing rooster
And await each day 'til they can take
A happily anticipated TV break.

Morning brings two faces delightful,
Beautiful, witty, charming, smart and insightful...
With wisdom, news and humor divine,
They offer bright smiles with a glass of fine wine.
Spending an hour, he's not sorry,
With Sara and Bobbie and Louis Licari.

Coming to this poem's joyous coda,
He must thank dear Kathie Lee and lovely Hoda
For a daily retreat from the grind
And helping enrich spirit, body and mind.
Your show offers the joy that he seeks
